He met a girl from Omaha and followed her to the United States where he eventually found himself at the stoves at the Institute for the Culinary Arts at Metropolitan Community College where he is a faculty member. With several years behind the stoves of various Norwegian kitchens, he ended up at the Norwegian Embassy in France. Next time, I will listen to that first instinct, and turn around and walk out, before all this has a chance to happen. We understand it was at the end of her shift, but a good attitude and apology for food ordered not brought, would have gone in a better direction. When she came back from the kitchen this time, she told us they were out of mashed potatoes and fresh veggies, and that she had pushed the wrong button for his sliders. Ten minutes later, she did check back, where she saw what we had in front of us was not what we ordered, completely. We were hungry so he was finishing his salad, and I started on the chicken, expecting the customary ‘check back’ by the waitress in a few. He did not have the right sliders, and I had French fries with the chicken tenders, no mashed potatoes, no veggies. When our order came out of kitchen, brought by a runner, not our waitress, we both had wrong orders. Ok, so hubby order chicken salad sliders with cranberries, and a spinach salad, and I ordered chicken strips, mashed potatoes, and fresh veggies. Looked over menu, asked for chicken pot pie….told by waitress there was none left. but the hostess assured us the kitchen doesn’t shut down until three, we were good to go, so we stayed. Hostess told us they ‘close at three’, and right then I had the thought that we needed to go somewhere else. We had not eaten since late breakfast, so stopped into this place for a meal. Sunday afternoon trip put us in Harrison at 2:45.
